Biography

Sébastien Balieu is an entrepreneur based in Brussels, Belgium, with 20 years of experience in digital marketing, product design and software development. He is the CEO and co-founder, with Didier Boulvin and Stéphane Draux, of Coddy, a Brussels company that turns cities into outdoor escape games played on a smartphone, for families, friends, companies (team building) and schools. Coddy launched its first game in Brussels in February 2020, raised €600,000 in January 2022 and now operates in 74 cities in 9 countries. He also runs One More Pixel, a Brussels digital studio he founded, which works under the Numinam brand and publishes its own products, including the family chores app Harmonia. Before becoming an entrepreneur, he was Digital Marketing Manager at Walibi Belgium (Compagnie des Alpes group), Zetes and AvantageGolf. He is a self-taught designer and developer.

Coddy started in 2017, when Sébastien, then running One More Pixel, reconnected with his old friend Didier Boulvin. With Stéphane Draux they founded Kalio Tech in Brussels in June 2018, a web and mobile agency whose revenue funded the development of the games. The first game, a zombie hunt in the streets of Brussels, launched in February 2020. When COVID-19 cancelled events a month later, the team switched to games that can be played at any time, which became the core of the business. The company took the name Coddy in December 2021 and raised €600,000 in January 2022 through the Spreds crowdfunding platform, Digital Attraxion, finance&invest.brussels and business angels. It later added team building for companies and school outings.

As CEO, Sébastien handles strategy, finance, marketing, sales and client relationships. He also built Coddy's website and CRM and automated bookings, payments and game delivery. As of September 2026, Coddy offers 275 games in 74 cities across 9 countries (Belgium, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Portugal and Hungary) and has welcomed more than 250,000 players (source).

Through One More Pixel, which trades as Numinam, he designs and develops websites, web and mobile applications, AI automations and internal tools for businesses. His own products include Harmonia (a family chores and rewards app), Vaibes (AI-assisted LinkedIn writing) and Crewsade (coordinated LinkedIn posting for companies).

His background is in marketing. From 2006 to 2017 he was Digital Marketing Manager successively at AvantageGolf, at Walibi Belgium, part of the French leisure group Compagnie des Alpes, where he led the brand's digital transformation in Belgium, France and the Netherlands, and at Zetes. He taught himself design and development. That mix of leisure industry experience, marketing and software development is what Coddy is built on. In 2023 he was a coach for Future is Here, a Brussels innovation challenge.

Sébastien Balieu, the Brussels-based entrepreneur and CEO of Coddy, is not the same person as Dr Sébastien Balieu, organic chemist and lecturer at the Université de Rouen-Normandie.

Coddy a lancé son premier jeu à Bruxelles en février 2020, a levé 600 000 euros en janvier 2022 et est aujourd'hui présente dans 74 villes de 9 pays. Il dirige aussi One More Pixel, le studio digital bruxellois qu'il a fondé, qui travaille sous la marque Numinam et édite ses propres produits, dont l'application familiale Harmonia. Auparavant, il a été Digital Marketing Manager chez Walibi Belgium (groupe Compagnie des Alpes), Zetes et AvantageGolf. Il s'est formé seul au design et au développement.
